See the Viper made the grid for LeMans. They just had their first practice session for the ALMS 12 hours of Sebring. They were .3 off the fast time, looks like though they are pretty close to the racepace. Nice to see considering it's basically a new car! I doubt they will dominate like they did the last time they ran, but should be interesting.

The Race Centre (UK Sim Racing Venue)

Any UKers been to this place?! (I know some of the old schoolers have!)

Good fun, with a projector screen setup with a steeringwheel/pedal setup. They are proper pedals, not the cheapo's that come with the wheels. They have a new Venue in Surbiton (London) that is pretty sweet. They cater and have nice screen resolutions. They are currently using RTactor .

For the hardcore racers, which are most of you on the forum, they have a monthly hotlap competition for a £50 cash prize and free entry into their "First Monday" racing event. Their drivers are respectable and try to race clean. The races are watched for unsportsmanlike conduct and drivers are penalized accordingly. Sounds like good fun! Once they get a good following in Surbiton they will link up with Southampton and run a full grid.

December Hotlap Competition Sam Bird even had a go in Class D! I saw him when he ran, man is he short!

If anyone is interested let me know and I can meet up with you! This place is a blast and you actually get to meet the people you race against.

Quote from heson :I was wrong, they have the same 45mm restrictor and 2058cc with turbo. I do not think you can go higher than aprox 600hp with that, but there migth be some National class permitting unlimited.

I like the rubbing is racing attitude, fighting for position is OK but ramming is not.

From what I read they run near 600HP.

A lot of the drivers they have are the top performers in their respective disciplines. In the future maybe they will run them across the pond, but do you guys realize how EXPENSIVE it is to ship stuff across? It's the first year they are running it, give it a chance. Rallycross isn't that big in the USA yet, these races are run as a support series for other bigger events.

Heikkenan short shot the jump in practice yesterday. A broken foot, rib, and internal bleeding with abdomen damage =(

Quote from PMD9409 :With Andretti possibly fielding a Dodge and Petty possibly switching back to Dodge, I sure hope Kenseth doesn't take the career ending path down that road.

Nothing wrong with Dodge, or any of the makers. The issue with Dodge is they do not offer a ton of support for the teams to run their badging. At the end of the day there isn't THAT much different between the makes. All are custom built cars with custom built engines for each track. That badge on the front of that is only that, a badge. NASCAR makes a big deal about the badging to give the car makers an incentive to push money/parts to the teams running their cars.

IMO Roush needs to make room for Trevor Bayne, Kenseth knows this and has the respect for Roush to step away from the team to free up his ride. Money is tight everywhere and teams just cannot support many high profile drivers. Shame to see him go, I watched Kenseth/Rieser cut their teeth on the local Wisconsin shorttracks. But it makes business sense, Bayne is good to drive for what.... 25 years? Kenseth has what? 3-5 seasons tops?

Doesn't clarify the situation enough?

guess not =)

Hopefully he will announce more news soon; I know he's not just sitting the project! =)

It's all a huge risk at the moment for many; it's new for the racing industry, and new concepts like this need to be 'validated' before people start bringing the money in. From what I understand the first season went very well on the whole and did a lot towards validating the concept of 'finding' a driver on the internet. Again that’s only a small part of the project, but essential in finding a 'diamond in the rough' that Jay is trying to search for.

Quote from BenjiMC :it's not a CTRA thing though, maybe linked with CTRA but not actually part of CTRA. besides, afaik it's gone past the lfs stage already but meh..

the V1 was totally seperate from CTRA. The only link you could make is that the UKCT, the same people that created CTRA, developed the sim racing side of V1 for Jay.

shit, wrong thread

That belongs in the fluffy bunny thread

I swear Becky you smoke crack, funny thing is people here actually believe the stuff you say... (pertaining you VS ukct) If you honestly believe that any actions that have been against you were not because of your actions I think you are in need of a serious reality check...

What do you have to gain from repetedly attacking people? Which is what you are doing, regardless of how you dress your wording up. Haven't you caused enough damage already?

Don't bother turning your attacks on me, I am done with LFS and this forum.

Seems great Becky, GL with the project.

Yeah, there are a lot more important things in life than dealing with a soap opera, it's really killed any enjoyment I could have had playing LFS.

Speed7 pedals up for sale if anyone is interested.

Goodluck to them, the US needs a team.

For anyone that says Americans can't engineer, your being just as stubborn and ignorant as any American ever is/was. But you will never see that...

Quote from Sueycide_FD :I'm glad the teams realize that you don't need 20 wings to make alot of downforce. Previous cars looked like a bunch of expensive door wedges glued to slicks.

So true =)

A stockcar makes almost the same downforce as an F1 car...

Quote from 5haz :Indeed, the driver seems to think that simply stepping on the gas will sort everything out hah.

What the video doesn't show is that it was a hill and there was a nice layer of ice. That's not just snow. It's a few years old now.

Sure they hit the gas a little, but watch closely, most of their movements happened with the brakes on.

Nope, and I am not buying a set for a couple days of snow =)

If I was still in Wisconsin I would have been on smaller winter tires for the last 3 months...

My boss laughed at me when I told him I had summer tires on my car though. Most the tires sold here are all seasons.
